Description

Maithon, also known as the 'Kashmir of Koyalanchal' is located in the coal belt on the River Barakar. Earlier, it was only a picnic spot but now it has emerged as a popular tourist spot as well. The tourist region of Maithon is small and attractive and one can just walk and enjoy the surroundings. Usually people, from Asansol, Dhanbad and other nearby towns visit Maithon.

A visit to the Dam in Maithon, which is the biggest dam of Damodar Valley Corporation and was built for flood control and power generation.
