Nestled against the backdrop of the snow-capped PirPanjal Mountains, the region of Jammu holds the southernmost unit of the state of Jammu & Kashmir. It falls between the Himalayan range in the north and the dusty Punjab plains in the south. Between these two extremities lie a series of forested mountain ranges, river valleys and few scrub-covered hills. The Shivalik hills cut the area from the east to the west while the rivers Ravi, Chenab and Tawi cut their paths through the region.

Best Time to Visit

September to early March is the best time to visit Jammu. Jammu can be strangely hot during the summer season.
Winters are also an ideal time to visit. This is definitely the best time to catch a glimpse of the 'heaven on earth'. You can experience a lovely chill in the air and hints of snow here and there.
