Description

Majuli offers a lush green environment-friendly, pristine and pollution free fresh water island in the river of Brahmaputr. It is only 20 km from the Jorhat city. With a total area of 1250 sq. km, this island is the world's largest river island and it attracts tourists from all over the world. Majuli is a beautiful surreal place that is enlisted on the Guinness book of world's record and has been nominated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Mostly inhabited by Tribals, the culture of Majuliis unique and quite interesting. The festivals celebrated here are all joyous and vibrant. The main festival in the town of Majuli is called Raas.

The nearest airport is Jorhat from where it takes around 2h to reach Majuli by road covering a distance of 44km.
