Janakpur is a city in Nepal, located in the Terai Region of Nepal and close to the Indian Border. Janakpur is believed to be the birthplace of Goddess Sita and place of her marriage with Lord Ram. How To Reach

You can take a cab or hire a car from Jamnagay or Sitamari in India, which is around 30 km, and 45km respectively from Janakpur. There are no direct flights to Janakpur from any Indian city. However, you can take a flight from Kathmandu airport to Janakpur airport, the duration of which is 25 min.
From Kathmandu, it takes around 6.5h to reach Janakpur by car.

Best Time to Visit

The period from September to March sees many festivals in Janakpur. Moreover, the weather becomes most pleasant during this time of the year and is great for outdoor activities.
