Description

Jorethang, a major town in South Sikkim lies sprawled upon the foothills below which the Rangeet River. In January, every year, the greatest and most anticipated festival in Jorethang's calendar, the Jorethang Maghe Mela takes place. Jorethang falls on the way to Pelling from Darjeeling.

Distance: 620km from Kolkata.
Time: Pakyong Airport is the nearest airport and it takes 3 hours to travel Jorethang from there.
Other options are train from Kolkata to NJP and flight from Kolkata to Airport. From both NJp and Bagdogra, it takes around 3.5 to reach Jorethang.

Best Time to Visit

Summer is pleasant and is great to perform outdoor activities.
Winters have a different appeal but can turn severe especially at night. If you visit here during the winter time, do not forget to carry warm clothes.
