Popularly known as the Open art gallery of Rajasthan, Shekhawati, named after 15th century ruler, Rao Shekha is famous for various painted havelis with frescos, forts and other historical structures. Shekhawati is located on the northeast region of Rajasthan is of prime historical significance. It is believed that the holy texts of Hindu and Vedas were all written here. Shekhawati is famous for rich heritage and beautiful architecture. Many of these old heritage Havelis and other buildings some of which are mansions and forts are all now converted to hotels and guesthouses. Shekhawati is truly a blessing for all art lovers who are in to architecture and old painted sculptures. Shekhawati style of architecture is unique in itself.

The period between November and February is the best time to visit Rajasthan. The summers are scorching whereas winters are cool with low humidity.
