Description

Gajoldoba is a small village in the Jalpaiguri District of Dooars region. It is situated at the foothills of Himalayas between Mahanada River in the west and Teesta River in the east. Gajoldoba is famous for the first reservoir formed by Teesta Barrage for irrigational purpose. The surrounding forest of Baikanthapur invites many migratory birds. The water body fringed by the forest enhances the beauty of the place. Much of Gajoldoba is still unexplored and Gajoldoba has recently started their first project of Eco Tourism. Gajoldoba is now an excellent place to spend some time amidst nature. The awe-inspiring backdrop of the snow-clad Kanchenjunga enhances the beauty of the place.

Distance: 570km from Kolkata.
Time: 10 hours by train to NJP and 50min by flight to Bagdogra Airport and then it takes 30 min to an hour to reach Gajoldoba by car.

Winter is the best time to visit due to pleasant weather and low humidity.
