Description

Pune or Poona City is the 'Oxford of the East' and the 'Queen of the Deccans'. It is the cultural capital of the Maratha People. The city was the capital of the Bhonsle Marathas in the 17th century and then was temporarily captured by the Mughals and then finally in the hands of the British. The roots of Poona take us back to when the Maratha Empire was first established here and the rule of Peshwas. Earlier, Pune was the seasonal capital of Bombay Presidency and now it has become a popular tourist destination for its historic and religious monuments, museums, parks, cultural attractions, luxurious hotels and restaurants, cool and pleasant weather, etc. Pune perfectly blends modernity with tradition, and it deserves the title of being the cultural capital of Maharashtra. Best Time to Visit

Pune is beautiful in both monsoons and winters. The best time to visit Pune is July to February. The weather is cool and pleasurably calm during these seasons, especially winters.
The months of December is a festive time when the city hosts the famous Sawai Gandharva Sangeeth Mahotsav.
Avoid summers, as the weather turns torrid.
