Kurseong is a hill station in Darjeeling District. The local name of Kurseong is 'Kharsang' or the 'Land of White Orchids'. Kurseong rose to its popularity first as a tourist attraction for colonial people and also as a sanatorium to help the sick to recuperate. The congested town may not seem to draw you much but if you start exploring Kurseong it will reveal its charm to you. The area is full of tea gardens, vegetation and forests on its hill slopes. Kuseong’s beauty and tranquility inspired Rabindranath Tagore’s poetries. The Railway Station is a British legacy and now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
