Description

Sreebadam, the beautiful forest village is famous for the meditation center and the healing of sick people in the monastery. SreeBadam is an ultimate destination for inner peace and meditation. It is also famous for the PhurpaThordo Puja and authentic Cham Dance at the monastery. Located 82 kilometers away from Gangtok lies this small remote village of Sreebadam. The village overlooks Samduptse of Namchi on the opposite hill with River Reshi flowing through the gorge below. The place is highly significant for its natural, cultural and religious aspects.

Duration

Distance: 665km from Kolkata.
Time: Take a train to NJP (10hr) or flight to Bagdogra/Pakyong (50min to 1hr) from Kolkata. Around 4 to 5hr from NJP/Bagdogra/Siliguri and 4 hr from Pakyong.

Best Time to Visit

You can even visit the place during rainy seasons for enjoying the trout fishing and for the Meditation, which takes place during the monsoon season for 2 weeks. October tillmid-May, the weather becomes cold and theskies get clear. The mountain range can be also be seen most clearly.
If you are interested in Cham dance and the PhurpaTordoPuja which last for 2 weeks must visit the place during December.

You can go for trekking to the Varsey Rhododendron Sanctuary.
Visit the Rishum monastery, Rinchenpong monastery, hot spring at Legship and the famous Daramdin Sai Temple.
From Sribadam you can visit Solophok and Samdputse at Namchi. The Singshore Bridge at Uttarey and even Khecheopalri Lake can be visited during a half day sightseeing. The Vhir Dara Tourist Point is well known for great views of Mount Kanchenjunga and sunrise.
