Description

Araku is a small quaint hill station in Andhra Pradesh. It is around 2hr from Vizag and is also in close proximity to Odisha's border. There are many magnificent mountain that surrounds the Araku Valley and the lush green landscape and forest around will surely captivate your eyes, heart and soul.
Mountains in Araku has heavy content of bauxite ore and not only are they rich in minerals but also a retreat for nature enthusiasts and adventure seekers. There also several deep tunnels touched by the dense foliage that enhances the scenic beauty of the place. The coffee plantations and the mist cover hanging above is a spectacular sight to watch.

Distance: 920km from Kolkata.
Time: There are no direct train or flight from Kolkata to Araku. From Vizag it takes 3hr to reach Araku Valley by car. But if you are traveling by a train from Vizag to Araku by train, it will offer you a life-time experience. The view outside looks splendid especially when the train crosses a bridge or passes through a tunnel.

Best Time to Visit

Summers are pleasant. However, winter cold in Araku is soothing and pleasurable more. January is the coldest month and Araku sometimes experience temperature even less than 5 degrees.
