Description

The Murti River flows down from the Kalimpong hills (Neora Valley National Park) and in Dooars it is located right in-between Gorumara National Park and Chapramari Wildlife Sanctuary. This place is known for its serene beauty, where one can feel the state of being tranquil and peacefully listen to the flowing river. Visitors can stay at the nearby forest bungalow and enjoy the beautiful atmosphere at Murti.

Duration

Distance: 620km from Kolkata.
Time: 10 hours by train and 50 min by flight from Kolkata to NJP and Bagdogra respectively. From there, it takes almost 2 hours by car to reach Murti.

Best Time to Visit

Winter season between December and February is the best time to visit Murti due to the pleasant weather conditions with low humidity. During Monsoon, the sanctuary remains closed.
