It is famous for the ruins of Penal colony before the Cellular Jail. Named after the marine surveyor Sir Daniel Ross, the island has been pulling in a considerable measure of visitor around the globe. Ross Island is around 5 to 7km from Port Blair and you can reach Ross Island easily either by car or ferry from Port Blair.

The best time to visit Ross Island is between October and March. The temperatures remain around moderate, making it perfect to enjoy sightseeing and partaking in water sports.
