Description

Pokhara is the second largest city in Nepal after Kathmandu. This gateway to the Himalayas in Nepal strikes the tourists all year round with its gorgeous views, wonderful weather and exciting activities. Nestled in the Pokhara Valley, Pokhara city is cut by the SetiGandaki River and her many tributaries, which contributes to the unique geography of the land. The gigantic Annapurna Range with its four tall teaks towers the city of Pokhara. Pokhara is also the Tourist Capital of Nepal.
The city is divided into two parts, which is the Lakeside Pokhara on one side and the Old City. Phewa Lake (or Phewa Tal), a spectacular lake borders Lakeside Pokhara while Old City is the commercial hub. Old City also houses unique handicrafts of Nepal. Pokhara is popular for handicrafts, woodwork and wool work.

How To Reach

Pokhara Airport is connected with most of the major cities of India. You can fly to Pokhara directly from Kathmandu. The travel time is about 40 minutes.
The journey by road from Kathmandu to Pokhara takes 6 to 7h to cover a distance of 220km.

Best Time to Visit

September to November is the ideal time to enjoy Pokhara.
