Shimla is the most eminent hill station in Northern India and is the capital of Himachal Pradesh. Situated at a height of 2200m, Shimla is set amidst beautiful hills and mystical woods. How To Reach

Shimla has its own airport called the Jubbarhatti Airport, which is situated, at a distance of 24km from the city of Shimla. The airport is connected with Delhi and Kullu but if you are travelling from any other part of the country or abroad, you would have to change flights at Delhi.
You can also take a train from Kalka to Shimla. The train journey of around 96km offers spectacular views of the Himalayas and the magical ride through narrow gauge, tunnels, and bridges with sharp curves shows with how much difficulty and effort the rail route was constructed. The rail track has been listed under UNESCO World Heritage Site. It takes round 5.5 h to reach Shimla by train from Kalka.
Shimla can also be connected from Kalka (90km), Chandigarh (120km) and Delhi (370km) by car.

Best Time to Visit

Shimla experience wonderful weather almost throughout the year. Summer time until June is pleasant and mildly cool during the day. However, the nights are colder. It is the best time to enjoy outdoor activities.
Winters can be severe in Shimla as it experiences snowfall. Those of you who are willing to enjoy snowfall and explore surroundings in snow cover can visit Shimla during the months of December and January.

You can also visit nearby stunning destinations of Kufri, Naldehra, Mashobra and Chail. You can also choose to stay in one of these places. However, the Chail Palace will give you an old British luxury feel and is a staying worth remembering forever.
