Siliguri

Description

Siliguri is the third largest city in West Bengal after Kolkata and Asansol. SIliguri is considered the lifeline of North East India. While it is a popular place to shop and do business for people from the North East and Bhutan, it has little to offer in the way of tourist attractions and so there is no good reason for tourists to linger in Siliguri. However, travelers heading towards Bhutan, Darjeeling and Sikkim may need to spend a night here. Siliguri is situated very close to the Mahanada River and the foothills of Himalayas.
If one moves few kilometers away from the congested city of Siliguri, one can catch the beautiful sceneries around. The snow clad mountain peaks at far in the backdrop are not to be missed.
