This place looks like God's own creation; it lies on the Silk route, in the Jammu and Kashmir at a distance approximately 142 Km from Leh. Nubhra valley is ornamented with Shyok and NubraRiver, which passes through it and a few beautiful monasteries as well. This place is sure to leave you awestruck. It requires certain permissions to visit NubhraValley;however, once you reach the place and areenthralled by its beauty and the calmness of its immense tranquility, you feel the gain.
As you proceed with your journey, along with many beautiful scenic views, you will also come across the highest desert of the world in Hunder, famous for the bactarian camel rides. Bactarian camels are of the rarest of the lot, having two humps and were the major source of transportation in the silk route.

There is no direct flight or rail connectivity, however, to Nubra Valley. LehRimpochee airport, which is the nearest airport that connects Nubra Valley to the rest of India, is approximately 162 km away from the Nubra Valley. The nearest railway station to Nubra Valley is in Udhampur, which is 298 km away from Nubra Valley. Apart from this, you can also go for road trips to reach the place.

Best Time to Visit

Summer season is the best time to visit Nubra Valley, owing to the clear skies and a pleasant climate. Monsoons and winters should be avoided.
