Description

Havelock Island, or officially the Swaraj Island is the home of Radhanagar Beach, which was awarded the best beach in Asia by the TIME magazine in 2004. This is the most important beach in Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Havelock Island, named after a British general, Sir Henry Havelock, who served in Indiais mostly vacant and holds a serene environment that adds to the romance of honeymooners. The crescent-shaped Radhanagar Beach is also a popular spot for watching the sunset. Havelock Island is famous for colored coral reefs and offers many exciting activities such as scuba diving, snorkeling, fishing and boating to tourists. The white sand, blue water, the sunset are all marvelous sights to behold. The forest interiors of the island is also home to birdlife. The enchanting beauty of Havelock is what makes it the most prominent island of Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

How To Reach

You can fly to Havelock from Port Blair in 20 minutes in a seaplane operated by Pawan Hans Helicopters Limited. The services are generally available on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
The best way to reach Havelock is by the air-conditioned ferry, which takes around 2h from Port Blair. There are government ferry services available as well which take about 2.5 hours. It is always better to book your tickets in advance during peak season
